I Love Mountains!

I just got back from a week in the Great Smokey Mountains - Sieverville, Tennessee to be exact. Home of the legendary Dolly Parton! I just love those mountains, but I guess you could tell that from the picture at the top of my blog. There is just something spiritual there for me and I wrote three songs while there. The cool mornings, gurgling mountain streams, multicolored greens of the trees, an unbelievable variety of wildflowers, and that "smoke" over the mountains, split-railed fences, horses grazing in green meadows, log cabins on the ridges, puffy white clouds on the horizon, shady footpaths leading off into the woods, roadside vegetable stands, fresh honey, and finally, country and bluegrass music. Even though my body resides here in steamy Florida, my soul lives in those mountains. Do you have a place like that? A place where your soul is "at home"? A place for spiritual rejuvenation and rest? If you haven't found it yet, keep searching! Everyone needs one.
