I Love Birds!

I love birds and have a bird feeder in my back yard. I sit at my kitchen table and watch them feast on sunflower seeds. There are house wrens, finches, cardinals, and an occasional woodpecker that fly in for a snack. I watch them hop up and take a turn eating and then hop down onto the ground to search for scraps while another bird takes his place at the feeder. I often wonder what they're saying to each other and try to see if there is some order to the feeding ritual. Each bird seems to take his turn and move along for others. The only bird that takes more than his share is the woodpecker. He's so large that the other birds fly clear and let him have his way. I especially love the male cardinals since they brighten up a dull, brown backyard. Spring is on its way but the green hasn't arrived yet. So for now I'll color up my day bird-watching.

Have a blessed day!
