My new songwriting collaborators - yes I have found two! - and I are working diligently on a bushel of songs. I'm not getting much sleep, I'm sorry to say, since song ideas and lyrics are just flowing out of my mind like water from a dripping faucet. Funny how this works. Song ideas and lyric ideas usually come when my mind is on other things and can come from the strangest places. Road signs, fragments of overheard conversations, feelings and images created by melodies, dreams, etc. All contribute to a final song.
I view it as painting lyrics over the music and when I'm inspired the lyrics flow over the music like water. It's a great feeling and some truly good songs are going to be written - I just feel it!!
