More Christian Than African-American
No, I'm not African-American. I'm of Scotch-Irish descent with ruddy, freckled skin and strawberry-blond hair but I could relate to my latest read titled More Christian Than African-American. Kimberly Cash Tate authored this book and did a wonderful job of 'splainin her Christian testimony. Most of her life she identified herself as a Black woman and didn't have much love for other ethnic groups. She was friendly and kind to other races of people but didn't identify them as in "her group." I may not be Black but I have my "groups" also. I identify more with Whites, Southerners, college-educated folks, etc. I, too, am more Christian than anything else and Kimberly helped me see that. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, not just African-Americans. Her writing style is engaging and easy to understand and, if read from the heart, is applicable to us all. Thanks Kimberly for sharing your testimony and enduring the spear-throwing I'm sure you have been subjected to. You go girl!
